Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that can power forklifts. They could run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine needs to be refueled.
In order to avoid possible serious injury, specific safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
