The forklift truck is an extremely big and strong machine able to work smoothly and efficiently, lifting and moving objects within material handling orientated tasks. A lot of components need to be replaced on regular basis due to breakages and damages.
Forklifts are really versatile equipment. A range of different accessories could be fitted onto the machinery in order to increase their capabilities and expand the jobs they are often able to complete. Several of the main different forklift parts and accessories are described below.
Fork Extensions
The fork extensions describe the forks on the forklift. These forks could can be changed completely, or different parts could be added to them so the truck could lift a variety of different types of cargo such as rollers, telescopic loads, baskets, amongst others.
Forklift Seals and Bearings
The bearings and seals are particular lift truck parts which allow the inner workings of the machine to operate in an efficient and optimum manner. Bearings enable two moving components of the machine to work together smoothly, without any friction. If not correctly fitted, bearings and seals can occasionally wear down or even break and these components may have to be replaced occasionally. If a bearing is the proper type of bearing for the equipment and it is fitted correctly, this particular lift truck component could easily outlive the life expectancy of the whole machinery.
Cabs
The forklift's cab is the part of the machinery where the operator sits and performs maneuvers. The cab can be open or it may have a roof, based on the particular model. On a work place, this forklift part typically has a roof to minimize the risk of falling materials and comply with safety reasons.
Brake Forklift Parts
Forklifts trucks have brakes that are required to be frequently tested in order to ensure they are in good working condition. Normally, these parts must be replaced because of damage or extended wear.
Wheels and Tires
The tires and the wheels are the forklift components which are most often damaged. Problems happen due to punctures from sharp objects on the floor and slashes from rough and uneven floor boards.
