Reach Truck
A reach truck is used to stock up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage areas tidy. The reach truck comes in several kinds: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This model consists of telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units could be accessed in multiple directions. This version is best in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Within nearly all warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to operate and could increase productivity while making the most of available storage space.
