Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic lift trucks offer height and versatility. These models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while lifting the cargo to great heights. Standard lift trucks could not move the load away from and towards the cab of the forklift, while a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in both construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It comes with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift would normally use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is designed to lift personnel is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
