Narrow Aisle Forklifts
Several forklifts are specially designed to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These units are referred to as narrow aisle forklifts. They could negotiate smaller aisles easily and allow you to enjoy several benefits. Like for example, the increased amount of space to store things could greatly increase a company's overall available inventory.
Narrow aisle forklifts could maneuver easily too. These equipment have been specially engineered to move without much space. Their unique design has eliminated a lot of the items which are squished up into the design of the conventional lift truck's main body.
These lift trucks are really slow in comparison to standard forklifts which is one of their key drawbacks. If you have to move objects across huge areas, the narrow aisle forklift is not the best. When it comes to speed they will not be a reliable choice. If you also have a regular forklift, this will not be a problem. You can just use the narrow aisle forklift to move the load to a central site and afterward hand it off to a standard lift truck which could travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely way. Commonly, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; thus, outside of smaller loads they would not be really helpful.
Electric Lift Trucks
For indoor operations such as stores or inside warehouses, traditional gas forklifts are not a suitable choice. They will not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or helpful than an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are often designed to work and look a lot like gas ones, but they utilize electric batteries which need to be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
Electric forklifts are popular for a range of reasons. For starters, they would save you lots of money on fuel expenses. At first, electric units may cost more but over time, they make up for this in the long run. Like for instance, when gas prices increase, you would not be affected and would save a lot of cash. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered units too. This is partially because of the fact they are mostly used inside and therefore don't get as dirty or work in as harsh settings as the gas powered models. Electric models are healthier to utilize in areas that are badly ventilated like indoor applications and warehouses as they don't emit noxious fumes. It can be really dangerous to utilize gas or diesel lift trucks indoors.
The electric lift truck does have some downsides like the fact that they could really only work for approximately 8 hours. Afterward the machine would have to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Many companies get around this situation by purchasing an extra battery so they could continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market which are also minimizing the charging time.
