Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, while some would utilize certain guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common kinds in compact retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks could work in aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models like for instance Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is large and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and hence more effective while limiting exhaustion.
